Music-making is a basic life skill, just like walking or talking. Although simply listening to music has its place in a well-rounded music education, it doesn’t support learning in the same way that active music-making experiences do.
In your Music Together® class, you’ll explore ways to make music with and for your baby, giving them the support they need to become the music-maker they were born to be. The one-semester Music Together Babies Class was created especially for families with infants under eight months old.
Your baby is a natural-born music-maker—cooing when you sing a nursery rhyme or wiggling when you dance to your favorite song. Even wee babies are alert to musical sounds and respond to melody and rhythm. In one of our classes, you’ll learn musical ways to interact and bond with your baby, support their brain development, and nurture their inner musician.
Our music activities are specifically designed to help you connect with your baby and support their music development.
Maybe you’ve noticed that your baby responds when you play a song in the car or sing to soothe them. Babies are naturally musical—and you don’t have to be a great singer or dancer yourself to nurture their love of music! In this music class for babies, your Music Together teacher will show you how you can support your baby’s music development through simple and fun activities.

“My daughter was a colicky baby who was difficult to soothe. Although she was held, rocked, crooned, and sung to constantly, nothing seemed to help . . . until the 'Hello Song' entered our lives. The 'Hello Song' could immediately stop crying spells, even if just for a short time, and other songs from the Tambourine collection had a similar effect! We were immediately hooked!” —Nicole Y., Long Island, NY
If the class time doesn't work for you, infants are very welcome in ALL our regular Mixed Age classes.
